Description
An exceptional late 19th-century Dutch writing desk with a richly inlaid floral marquetry design, featuring fine woods including walnut, mahogany, and maple. The desk showcases detailed plant, animal, and exotic bird motifs, with Baroque and Louis XV influences. Its curved front includes three large drawers, eight smaller drawers, a drop-leaf writing surface, internal compartments, and carved lion’s paw feet characteristic of Flemish and Northern European cabinetmaking. The desk measures approximately 116 cm in height, 110 cm in width, and 54 cm in depth. The piece has been restored while retaining its original character and authenticity.
