Rare gold damask French antique corseted bodice with original ‘baleine’ corset boning.
Made circa 1870s – 1880’s, exceptional condition!

Silk covered buttons (all original). Deep pointed basque waistline front and back, made from a beautiful hand-woven silk damask fabric. Panelled structure with bracelet-length sleeve is cut on the curve with pin tucks at the elbow. Very slight puff at the sleeve head which is lightly padded inside. Handmade bobbin lace ruffle at the cuff. Entirely flatlined with a soft twill.

The boning : 9 bones in total. 6 are natural baleine (3 of which are broken in a few places). 3 are steel/metal, see photos.

Fits approx: XS – S

Bust: 85.5 cm Waist: 67 cm Shoulder: 37.5 cm Sleeve: 48 cm+ 7 cm lace trim. Front length: 55 cm Back length 58 cm.

Condition: In great condition with signs of use, see pictures for closer details. Note the stains to the arm holes + 2 small holes, slight shatttering in same area. A few minor breaks to the lace.
