Antique Hand-Painted Portrait of Woman in Brass Frame, Signed Calvert, Circa 1880

This lovely portrait was done by Calvert, an American artist. It is a watercolored lithograph, painted by hand. Calvert came to Tennessee in 1870, so this piece (found in TN), is most likely post 1870. It is in great antique condition. The piece retains its original domed glass; there are no scratches to the glass. There is patina to the detailed floral brass frame. The ribbon between the backing and the easel is broken, however the frame still stands sturdy on the easel. There is also a brass loop on the velvet backing for hanging on the wall (as seen in the photo). This piece is the perfect addition to a gallery wall!
